Abnova and the Friends of Dubois Badlands explore native plants and discuss restoration strategies

On August 30, 2024, Abnova Ecological Solutions’ Dr. Michael Curran gave a talk to the Friends of the Dubois Badlands about ecosystem services, terrestrial food webs, and the role native plants play in maintaining biodiversity at multiple scales.  The following morning a group from the previous evening’s talk went on a plant identification hike around the Dubois Badlands themselves, with Curran pointing out various plant species, removing several non-natives (mainly halogeton) and giving the Friends of Dubois Badlands a list of species recommended for the area.  Recently, the group wrote an article about the events which can be accessed here: Native Plants Flourish – Building Terrestrial Foodwebs Through Native Plant Establishment.
