Study finds Wyoming gas fields abuzz with invertebrates

WyoFile covered recent research published by Abnova’s Dr. Mike Curran showing insects respond favorably to reclamation and restoration practices in the Pinedale Anticline and Jonah Infill natural gas fields in Sublette County, WY.

Insects provide critical ecosystem services like pollination, nutrient cycling, biodiversity, and are the building blocks of terrestrial food webs. WyoFile’s article discussed two recent publications which showed a 6-12x increase in insects on reclaimed well pads in the Pinedale Anticline natural gas field and a 3-22x increase in insects on well pads in the Jonah Infill natural gas field.
